The American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting is "the premiere conference for epilepsy and other seizure disorders" where neurologists and other healthcare professionals who treat these disorders can share findings from ongoing research. These findings are presented in symposiums, lectures, scientific exhibitions, and poster and platform sessions. HCPLive attended the recent AES meeting in Seattle to provide our readers with daily recaps of various lectures and presentations. Some of the highlights of our coverage included discussions with AES outgoing president Dennis Spencer, MD, about the use of technology in neurosurgery and Samuel Wiebe, MD, director of the University of Calgary Epilepsy Program, about the relationship between neuro-infections and epilepsy. |
