Ettie Moghissi, MD, FACP, FACE, from the Marina Diabetes and Endocrinology Center discussed the goals of the program during the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists 24th Annual Scientific and Clinical Congress in Nashville. Moghissi said the goal is to help patients reach success in the ABC's of diabetes care including A1C, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels. Calling it a "complex disease," Moghissi said breaking down the condition can help patients manage the condition better.

A website for the Blood Sugar Basics program is available for patients and physicians alike to get more information on the program.
