Developing a Policy for Pediatric Interaction With Media
The American Academy of Pediatrics first developed a policy for media in relation to children under the age of 2 back in 1999. Since that time much has changed, including the ways in which media is a integrated into a child's life.
It has been more than a decade since the American Academy of Pediatrics first developed its first media education policy. In that time a lot has changed, including the kind and amount of content available and the number of devices and other options that enable kids to reach that content.
At the 2014 AAP National Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, CA, Donald Shifrin, MD, discussed changes in the policy moving into the 21st Century.
