Robert Eckel, MD, from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus discussed new guidelines that have been adopted by the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Diabetes Assocation during the latter's 75th Annual Scientific Sessions in Boston. While there are only some minor disagreements, Eckel said one major difference is whether a risk management program could help patients monitor their health.
