With the help of a 3-D printer researchers are working on developing a new overtube that can be used during endoscopic submucosal dissection.

Alexander Meining from the University of Ulm in Germany discussed the newest developments in the field during Digestive Disease Week in Washington DC. Meining said that one of the biggest advantages to the new technology is that the tube will have two arms, one which can grab its intended target and a second which can cut the sample away.
