Patients with gastric ulcers are always looking for the fastest way to heal their conditions. A recent study looked at whether exercise in rats helped expedite the healing process.

Berrak Yegen from Marmara University in Istanbul discussed the results of her study during Digestive Disease Week in Washington, DC. Yegen said the team was surprised just how effective prior excercise was when the rats were given ulcers in helping their recovery. Yegen noted that the recovery time for sedentary rats was a still manageable 10 days while the rats who had prior exercise recovered in just 3 days.
