Dr. Hiroo Takayama on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

In this video, Hiroo Takayama, MD, PhD, assistant professor of surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, discusses hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a leading cause of death in young athletes who are otherwise healthy. He explains that its symptoms, such as shortness of breath and left ventricle outflow obstruction, can indicate a serious problem and warrant referral to a specialist.
