Dr. Martin Blaser on Antibiotics and Obesity
Martin Blaser, MD, chairman of the department of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine, discusses the possible relationship between exposure to antibiotics in infancy and increased rates of obesity. He describes an experiment conducted by his team in which mice were exposed to courses of antibiotics meant to mimic those to which human infants are exposed. This video was shot during a press conference at the annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America in Boston.
