Dr. Shreyasee Amin Discusses Fractures in RA Patients
Shreyasee Amin, MD, Department of Rheumatology, Mayo Clinic, discusses the increased risk of fracture in men and women with rheumatoid arthritis.
“In addition to women and men having to deal with their arthritis symptoms and their disease, we do recognize that they’re also at increased risk for fractures,” said Amin. “And fractures can be associated with significant morbidity and some fractures are also associated with increased risk for mortality, especially in older patients.”
