There are many factors to consider when looking at the most effective treatment methods for multiple sclerosis. A new area researchers are looking at is ways to prevent brain volume loss beyond what most people experience over the course of their lives.

Speaking at the annual ECTRIMS conference in London, Barry Singer, MD, from Missouri Baptist Medical Center said it is large conferences like that one which can help spread the world about the latest innovations quickly while also providing an opportunity to answer questions for those who are not as familiar with the topic. Singer said the bottom line for treatment in this area is "save the brain," starting with early diagnosis and starting on treatment to help prevent the conditioning worsening.
