The treatment of various eye conditions can vary widely depending on where a patient lives. While some countries may have the best technology readily available others are lacking in not only equipment but training.

The treatment of various eye conditions can vary widely depending on where a patient lives. While some countries may have the best technology readily available others are lacking in not only equipment but training.

Orbis International, a nonprofit organization, has been addressing this concern for more than 20 years with their flying eye hospital. The group recently launched their newest hospital which includes not only state of the art operating equipment but also provides facilities to teach not only doctors on the plane, but also those on the ground as well.

Thanks to a donation from Crestron the aircraft connects doctors in the plane's operating room to those in the class space at the front of the plane. The video can also be seen by doctors at the local hospitals and others in the area to learn the latest treatment techniques.
