It may seem obvious, but being able to effectively communicate to patients about their cardiovascular care can have a dramatic impact on treatment in the long run.

Lynne T. Braun, PhD, ANP, from Rush University discussed why communication is so important in patient care and what health care professionals can do to improve that level of communication during the American College of Cardiology's 65th Annual Scientific Session and Expo in Chicago. Braun said communication is important not only for patients who are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease, but also those being treated for the most serious conditions in the field.
