Medical Ethics an Evolving Field with Long Reaching Implications

As the field of medical ethics continues to expand, its use can be seen in everything from general medical conditions to end of life considerations.

Eric Vogelstein, PhD, MA, from Duquesne University discussed this topic during a recent interview with MD Magazine. Vogelstein noted that with a background in philosophy he has spent a considerable amount of time looking at fields like advanced directives, surrogate decision making, and others including ethical theory and abortion. With a variety of training levels in medical ethics, Vogelstein said the field has considerable amount of room to grow in for future generations of providers.
