Across the spectrum of medicine machines are being trained to play a larger role in the diagnosis and treatment process. A recent study looked at whether machines are better at predicting the future for a patient and their overall care.

Piotr Slomka, PhD, from Cedars-Sinai discussed the results of his research during the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Chicago. While Slomka said some people are concerned that machines could replace people in this work, he believes there is room for both in the common goal of providing the best care possible for patients.
