Sekar Kathiresan, MD, from Massachusetts General Hospital discussed this research and what it can mean for doctors in daily practice during the American Heart Association's annual scientific sessions in Orland. Kathiresan also discussed ways he helps patients manage their cholesterol levels in his own practice including encouraging lifestyle changes which can work in ways medications may not currently be able to.
