As female patients get older their needs from their healthcare professionals change drastically through the various life cycles. From their first experience with menstruation through bladder incontinence later in life there is a lot that doctors can do to help ease their patients through the transition. Jill Rabin, MD, from North Shore LIJ discussed some of these changes during a recent interview with MD Magazine.

As women get older their chances of developing bladder incontinence grows. Unlike previous generations there are now definitive treatment options beyond surgery to help these patients maintain a normal quality of life.

For any woman pregnancy can be an expensive endeavor. When already struggling economically the challenges become that much greater. At North Shore LIJ work is being done to help these and other women through what can be very difficult and trying times.

From the time a woman becomes pregnant she faces a long list of potential issues and questions right through the time of delivery. While there are no definitive answers to some of these questions, just knowing the right questions to ask and the answers to give can go a long way.

For boys and girls alike puberty can be a scary time as their bodies undergo changes. How their loved ones and healthcare professionals guide them through the process can make a considerable difference in how they handle the changes they are experiencing.
