Robert Garrett From Hackensack University Medical Center: New Medical School Aims to Help Address Physician Shortage

With the announcement of a new medical school thanks to a partnership between Seton Hall University and Hackensack University Health Network the two New Jersey institutions are working to address a growing shortage of physicians in a number of specialties across the country.

With the announcement of a new medical school thanks to a partnership between Seton Hall University and Hackensack University Health Network the two New Jersey institutions are working to address a growing shortage of physicians in a number of specialties across the country.

Robert C. Garrett, President and CEO of the health network said because it will be a private medical school they will be able to provide more resources for students. With these resources he said they will be able to help guide future doctors into fields like family practice and internal medicine among others. The new school will be the latest partnership in the state joining similar efforts between Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital, as well as Rutgers University and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
