As the only National Pancreas Foundation Center for Excellence in New Jersey and one of only 30 in the country Hackensack University Medical Center has made a point of providing the best care possible to patients when it comes to pancreatic health.

As the director of the Pancreas Center at HackensackUMC, formerly known as Hackensack University Medical Center, Rosario Ligresti, MD said his team worked hard to attain this distinction which has helped improve patient care overall. While other institutions may have some or all of the same components in different locations Ligresti said the fact that patients can receive all their care across a spectrum of specialties has proven to be the most effective way to help these patients on a regular basis.
