Charles DeCarli: Looking at Alzheimer's Beyond the Patient and Into the Future

Unlike many other diseases Alzheimer's has a unique impact not only on patients but loved ones who see the changes it can cause more than the people it affects directly.

Having treated the disease for many years Charles S. DeCarli, MD, from UC Davis Health System said he has seen a lot of progress in helping to educate not only the patients about the condition but also their caregivers and loved ones. DeCarli credited the Alzheimer's Assocation for helping to improve the education of caregivers and helping them cope with the various aspects of helping people with the disease and other forms of dementia.
