Daniel Forman, MD, from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center discussed the factors that need to be considered when making this decision during the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting in Boston. Forman said with surgeons getting more comfortable performing operations on elderly patients how their life is after the procedure also needs to be strongly considered.
