As new diagnostic techniques are designed for dementia and Alzheimer's Disease in particular it can help with the development of new medications.

Between tracking abnormalities in the brain which can be measured and other advances in the field, Charles DeCarli, MD, from UC Davis Health System said doctors are developing new ways that may be able to help patients in the future to help find targeted therapies for dementia and other conditions. These techniques are still in the very early stages but DeCarli said they are promising steps in the treatment of a condition which can mean making big steps for future generations.
