As the diagnosis process for adults with ADHD becomes more commonplace in medicine today there is still a gap in finding effective treatments to help patients with the condition from childhood to adulthood.

Manisha Madhoo, MD, from Shire Pharmaceuticals discussed work her company was presenting at the American Psychiatric Association's meeting in Atlana during an interview with MD Magazine. Madhoo said the company was looking at the "real world" effects of current treatment options on the lives of patients with the condition. As a result, she said they were able to see what is working in treatment for many patients and what more needs to be done to help them in the future.
