Representative cases from the ESTABLISH study

These figures show a representative case from each group in the ESTABLISH study. Baseline and follow-up IVUS images in both groups are presented; follow-up IVUS images are shown below the baseline images. Marked enlargement of the lumen and a decrease of plaque are clearly observed in the patient treated with atorvastatin at the non-PCI site after only 6 months of aggressive lipid-lowering therapy, whereas a significant reduction of the lumen and an increase of plaque are observed in the control patient.
