Telemedicine is an expanding field across many areas of the medical community. Finding the best ways to use it and expand its growth are also becoming focal points as the idea gains popularity in helping treat patients.

Working at the Montefiore Health System in the Bronx, David Rubaltelli, MD, has seen how much of a challenge it can be for patients to travel a few blocks or a few miles to see their doctors and specialists. Because of that, he said telemedicine can cut the distance patients have to go while still providing a high level of care to address their various health needs. The doctor also said he believes in the future computers will be able to handle some tasks currently done by doctors in a faster and more efficient method through advancements in the field.
