Marla Mendelson, MD, from Northwestern Medicine discussed some of the challenges associated with high blood pressure during and after pregnancy during a recent interview with MD Magazine. Mendelson said it is important to remember that high blood pressure at any time can have a negative impact later in life and lead to other, more serious conditions. Mendelson said education is an important part of a woman's health care over the course of their lives. She also noted that high blood pressure can be difficult to treat during pregnancy but not impossible thanks to upates in technology and medication.
