Released in October 2008, this current release of the AGA’s guideline on GERD provides thorough recommendations for diagnosis and initial therapy, along with evidence that supports these recommendations. Recommendations are provided with grades (A, B, C, D, Insuff) and quality of evidence designations to help in understanding the strength of each. Lifestyle modifications, antisecretory therapies, empirical therapy, diagnostic tests, and disease progression are among the topics addressed.
