Kidney cancer survivor e-Patient Dave deBronkart discusses the relationship he had with his treatment team.

When asked about his relationship with his treatment team, e-Patient Dave said, "I am now the co-chair of the society for participatory medicine which is about an empowered, engaged, and informed partnership between patients and providers. I got care from literally one the best places in the world for this disease [kidney cancer], and yet although they were tops in their craft, they were completely welcome to my being involved with asking questions [and] we would exchange emails. It got to the point where people on my care team were subscribing to my online journal that I started for patients and family and friends on CaringBridge. "
