As people's lives get busy one of the things that suffers the most is their ability to get the proper amount of sleep. This can range from mild sleep issues to more extensive bouts of insomnia.

As people's lives get busy one of the things that suffers the most is their ability to get the proper amount of sleep. This can range from mild sleep issues to more extensive bouts of insomnia.

For many adults, 7 hours of sleep is nothing more than a dream. Kimberly A. Hardin, MD, from UC Davis Health System said while that may be the case severe insomnia can be a nightmare for people no matter how old they are or why sleep eludes them. While sleep apnea is a major focus point for the field, Hardin said as much as 20% of the population has chronic insomnia which also needs to be addressed.
