Life expectancy is rising rapidly among patients with type 1 diabetes thanks to new advances in medicine.

Life expectancy of patients with type 1 diabetes has improved dramatically since 1950, results from the long-term, prospective Pittsburgh Epidemiology of Diabetes Complications (EDC) Study show. Dr. Trevor Orchard discusses the study.
