As more is learned about the causes of conditions like allergies and asthma medical science can better treat patients that are affected. This can include new treatments, new delivery methods, and new ways to prevent the conditions entirely.

Beatriz Leon, PhD, and Frances Lund, PhD, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham discussed their research that looked at the conditions at a cellular level and how something as simple as exposure to dust mites may affect how a person reacts to these conditions.
