The presenter discusses objective, design, and results of this study, which was undertaken to examine the long-term effect of combined pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions in geriatric patients with depression, mixed dementia, and cardiovascular comorbidities. The non-pharmacologic interventions included a unique home-based program that included mild exercises, cognitive training, memory training, stress management, dietary and other lifestyle modifications, and a program of hand movements designed especially for this fragile population.
