There is a well known connection between the Zika virus and neurological issues. Continued research of the virus has also shown a connection to vision impairment and other problems as well.

Camila Ventura, MD, from the Altino Ventura Foundation in Brazil, discussed some of the latest developments in the condition now known as Congenital Zika Syndrome during the annual meeting of the American Academy of Opthalmology in Chicago. With the ocular findings over the past year Ventura said the task now is to find the best way to help these yougn patients to have a better quality of life than would otherwise be possible.
