As more diabetes drugs hit the market there are natural safety questions that come with these prescriptions. In recent years the US Food and Drug Administration has worked to increase the steps taken to ensure the safety of these drugs.

Janet Woodcock, MD, director of the US Food and Drug Administration Center for Drug Evaluation and Research detailed some of the steps that have been taken to improve safety standards while not stopping the innovations needed to help current and future patients at The Endocrine Society's 97th Annual Meeting & Expo in San Diego.
