There are many vector borne diseases which can affect patients around the world. For diseases like Lyme Disease there are many more questions than answers for patients, particularly after their initial diagnosis.

Stephen J. Gluckman, MD, from the University of Pennsylvania discussed some of the questions patients have during the diagnosis process during the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine meeting in Boston. Calling Lyme the "elephant in the room," of vector borne diseases, Gluckman said understanding the condition is one of the most complicated parts of the diagnosis process.
