New from FDA: Drug Shortages App

The US Food and Drug Administration today announced the launch of its new mobile [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_crop","fid":"32700","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image media-image-right","id":"media_crop_2244070887961","media_crop_h":"0","media_crop_image_style":"-1","media_crop_instance":"3450","media_crop_rotate":"0","media_crop_scale_h":"0","media_crop_scale_w":"0","media_crop_w":"0","media_crop_x":"0","media_crop_y":"0","style":"width: 146px; height: 146px; float: right; margin: 3px;","title":" ","typeof":"foaf:Image"}}]]application (app) that supplies information about drug shortages.

Including updates about current and resolved shortages and discontinuations, it is searchable by generic drug names and active ingredients and browsable by therapeutic category. It can also be used to report issues back to the agency.

The app is can be downloaded free via iTunes (for Apple devices) or the Google Play store (for Android devices) by searching “FDA Drug Shortages.”
