New Treatments and New Ways to Help Veterans in Cardiac Care

Novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs) have made treatment of many patients considerably easier over the past few years. Finding ways to apply that to veterans can help a patient population deserving of high quality health care.

Speaking at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, LA, Lizheng Shi, PhD, from Tulane University, discussed the importance of properly treating veterans and how the new treatments can do that in a more effective way. Shi said as the NOACs gain popularity in civilian medicine, the same trend should apply to veterans for the same conditions which can help health care overall in the future.
