With a population of more than 1.4 million people it is important for patients to be treated as effectively as possible to help their own health as well as prevent their conditions from spreading. A new study looked at bringing help to hepatitis C patients in this growing country.

Jidong Jia, MD, MPH, from Beijing Frienship Hospital discussed some of the work being done in this field during the annual Liver Meeting in San Francisco. While Jia said bringing the new medications to China is important it is also a goal to make that medication available to the patients that need it most.
