With clinical trials becoming more expensive and difficult to arrange in the current medical environment researchers are looking at new ways to test ideas without putting added stress and strain on clinicians.

Patrick T. O'Gara, MD, from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Immediate Past President of the American College of Cardiology said that if clinical trials can be more seamlessly intertwined with the work doctors are already doing it can make them easier to complete without adding additional time or money to the project. O'Gara was one of thousands of cardiologists who made the trip to London for the European Society of Cardiology's Annual Congress.
