According to Higgins, patients are always looking for and asking about nutrition solutions to IBD since they either heavily restrict their diets or rely on stringent diets in place of effective medications, so it's imperative that healthcare professionals engage with their IBD patients and actively start dialogue, so patients don't accidentally do things that result in self-harm.
