It was not that long ago that women with congenital heart disease were discouraged from becoming pregnant. Thanks to advances in diagnosis and treatment that is no longer the case.

Syed Ali N. Zaidi, MD, from Montefiore Medical Center discussed some of the developments in this field during a recent interview with MD Magazine. Zaidi said that while these patients do need a high level of treatment and care during pregnancy their children can be happy and healthy like other babies.
