Franck Kalume, PhD, shared the potential possibility for treatment options for both geriatric and pediatric epilepsy patients at the American Epilepsy Society 2014 Annual Meeting.

"If we can use pacemakers, for example, that would be activated in cases of seizures in trying to prevent this abnormal cardiac arrhythmia during seizures we can at least prevent this sudden death, although we're not curing this epilepsy yet," said Kalume.
