- Prepare to take off the white coat in terms of status and unwelcome responsibility.
- Find an activity that is meaningful.
- Consider how your retirement is going to affect your spouse.
- Develop or expand relationships with family and friends.
- Look forward to having more time to exercise and take care of yourself.
- Recognize that health status is very important to a successful retirement.
- Prepare to live on your savings and investments.
- Visualize retirement as a very positive and rewarding time in your life.
