Cocaine's Unseen Damage to the Heart Revealed

When cocaine users seek medical attention at a hospital regularly used scans may miss some hidden damage done to the patient's heart. A new study looked at other areas that could help maintain their longterm health.

Varun Kumar, MD, from Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago studied the effects of the drug on the coronary microvasculature and presented the results at the recent American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in Chicago.
