Taxes and Spending
de facto
President Bush's proposed tax cutpackage is stirring both liberals andconservatives. The main difference, ofcourse, is that conservatives are lookingforward to the proposed tax shakeupand liberals are gritting their teethhoping it won't pass Congress (or atleast pass without a few majorchanges). Worthy of attention, however, for both liberals and conservatives isa recent report by the CongressionalBudget Office. According to the report, failure to continue tax cuts will amountto a tax increase of more than$1 trillion for Americans over the next10 years. That's a solid argument forconservatives to use in their defenseand a sobering statistic for liberals thatmay influence opinion.
