The FBI has release is annual Uniform Crime Report (www.fbi.gov). The annual report, which offers up statistics on many crimes in US cities, showed that the nation's crime index actually fell by 0.2% last year; violent crime fell by about 1.5%. With quality of life issues in mind, here are some 2002 crime numbers for 5 major cites across the country:
