IRS a Web Winner
Note:
Whatever else taxpayers may thinkabout the IRS, its Web site (www.irs.gov)is a winner. In an awards program run byKeynote Systems, the IRS Web site scoredan average of 99.8% for reliability, earningit the performance award for BestTransaction Reliability. The Keynoteawards program honors the fastest andmost reliable Web sites in three categories:e-commerce, e-government, andtravel and hospitality. The performanceaward is based on a taxpayer's ability toaccess the IRS Web site's home page andclick through a number of pages to findthe needed information. The IRSWeb site, as you might expect, is one ofthe federal government's busiest, with atotal of 139 million visits in 2003.
