In its annual automotive rankings, www.consumerreports.org) awarded Hondamodels 5 of its top picks, but the surprisewas 2 General Motors (GM)models, the Chevrolet Avalancheand the Pontiac Vibe, which garneredthe Detroit automaker its first2 top picks ever. Overall, 13 GMmodels made CR's recommendedlist, while between them, Honda andToyota placed 30 models on thelist. Scraping bottom was Ford,with just 5 models making the list,including 2 from Ford's Volvo division.The usual slate of Japaneseautos led the magazine's reliabilityroster, which ranks 3-year-old vehiclesbased on frequency of repair,with Acura and Toyota on top.Cadillac ranked in the reliabilitysweepstakes as the car with theworst frequency-of-repair record, followedby Volkswagen, Mercedes,and GMC.
